TAB Suffolk - Long Island Facilitator(s)

Each facilitator with The Alternative Board® (TAB) is an experienced business person who has successfully completed an extensive TAB facilitator training program and participates in ongoing training sessions. Most facilitators run or have run their own businesses giving them a unique perspective to share with the board members.

The TAB facilitator guides the group discussions without dominating the meetings and encourages all members to express their views while keeping the discussion on track. They also ensure problem solving ideas are generated and the meeting does not become a gripe session.

Paul McGinniss is Founder and Head Coach of Response-Able Consulting LLC, an exceptionally client-focused consulting company that helps small- to medium-sized business owners create structure in their business that allows them to achieve their business and personal goals. Prior to founding Response-Able Consulting, McGinniss was Director of Development at Time Inc. the largest magazine publisher in the world, and Director of People Development at Time Warner Book Group (now Hachette Book Group USA), one of the largest trade book publishers in the world.

During his more than 20 years as a corporate leader, McGinniss has successfully managed people and processes at companies from some of the biggest publicly held corporations in the nation to some of the smallest family-run businesses in the New York area. McGinniss has succeeded in hitting sales goals, reducing turnover costs, improving customer service and turning around troubled units. He is often referred to as, “the best manager I’ve ever worked for” by his former employees. McGinniss not only brings a unique perspective to any business situation having extensive experience in both “line” (profit-focused) and “staff” (human resources) sides of a business, he also uses a unique and powerful brain-based approach to coaching.

McGinniss received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Economics as a Dean’s list graduate of the New York State College at Oneonta and successfully completed his Masters of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the New York Institute of Technology (where he received the Nassau Civic Club Award). McGinniss served as President (2008, 2009) and as Past President (2010) of the Long Island Coaching Alliance-a Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF); is an ICF member and Professional Certified Coach (PCC), a Results Certified Coach, a certified Strategic Business Leadership coach, a certified TAB Board Facilitator; and is a member of Long Island University’s Paralegal Program Advisory Board, the Farmingdale Citizen’s Advisory Committee, and the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce.

McGinniss was born and raised on Long Island, NY and is a strong believer in giving back, donating a percentage of his company’s profits to local charities and is a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island
